Comparison of NH Film

NH Film consists of liquid crystalline polymer aligned in hybrid-nematic orientation in an ultrathin film. The film improves the viewing angle of TFT-LCDs and allows TFT-LCDs to reproduce their colors with great fidelity. This feature makes NH Film ideal for monitors on portable video and digital still cameras, car navigation displays, LCD televisions, and other devices that display still and moving images.

Structure

Internal structure of the optical layer

This film for improving viewing angles has a special internal structure in which the orientation of the liquid crystalline polymer molecules changes gradually (see figure at right). This structure is similar to the structure of the LCD driving cell itself in the black state. Thanks to this optical design, the display has much better visibility from any angle.

NV Film

Viewing Angle Compensator Film for Polarizers

NV film consists of a liquid crystalline polymer aligned perpendicular to a film to realize a homeotropic internal structure in an ultra thin film.
The film improves the viewing angle of the polarizer which is an essential component of LCDs and is effective for enhancing the performance of IPS-LCDs and VA-LCDs.

Features

Structure

NV film has an internal structure in which the liquid crystalline polymer molecules stand completely upright and are aligned perpendicular to the film (see figure at right). An optical film having this internal structure acts as a "positive C type retarder," and in combination with a normal retarder (positive A type retarder), the polarizer's viewing angle is enhanced and the performance of IPS-LCDs and VA-LCDs can be greatly improved.
